Responsible and caring parents should not have to worry about losing custody of their children. In 2013, Justina Pelletier was separated from her family for 15 months. A bill has been filed by Rep. Marc Lombardo (R-Billerica) to prevent a Government agency from separating children and parents, simply because of conflicting medical opinions. This law will require the Commonwealth to prove that its interest to intervene outweighs the constitutionally protected rights of parents.
